The Process

Community Building Training

The Catalyst team learns about the local population within the ‘coworking zone’ from the building. We compare it to trends in the demographics of coworkers today to see if the neighborhood is a good fit.

Floorplan and Design

Based on the population study and learning the goals of the property owners we determine which form of coworking would be most successful.

Business Modeling

We examined the floor plan to design three different layouts and project potential revenue and startup expenses of each layout.

Job Training

We trained their future community manager on site to be engaging connectors that created a culture of collaboration. We spent another two weeks training them about expected problems, hosting events, and general operations of a space with over 100 members.

The Outcome

The Catalyst team worked with their design team and community manager to launch the second coworking space in Mongolia. We designed a process for them to build a community in a city where coworking is unknown and bring together a community that growing and will be a profitable business in their first 18 months.
