Creative Density x Thrive have Merged!
Big Announcement! We’ve merged with Thrive for access through greater Denver. Same great Creative Density, a larger community with more locations.
Big News! Since 2011Creative Density has been a hub for remote workers and freelancers looking to escape the house and be productive with friends. Today, we’re announcing that we are merging with another local Denver coworking brand that shares those same values. We’re combining forces with Thrive and their 5 locations spreading out from Arvada, to Cherry Creek, to Centennial and several spots in between.
1 Membership. 8 Locations.
As a member, this means a Creative Density membership gives you access to 8 locations through metro Denver and many more to come in the next few years. You’ll be able to grab coffee, plug into a monitor, or jump into a phone booth with friendly people wherever you are. It’s true flexibility, and we can’t wait for our over 1,200 members to get to know each other.
Still Neighborhood and Community Focused. This merger supercharges our mission to be people-first and affordable workspace for remote workers. We believe great coworking spaces are created when friendly people come together.
A merger that has been 14 years in the works.
Thrive and Creative Density are the oldest coworking brands in Denver, with roots starting months apart in 2010. Creative Density was started by Craig Baute when he was looking for the ideal location to be a remote worker and moved to Denver from Michigan. Chad and Charlie Johnson started Thrive at their original Lodo location when both were working in construction and architecture. All three of them started their coworking spaces seeking out connections with other young professionals stuck remotely or starting their own small businesses. Creative Density’s slogan describes the pain he was trying to solve in just a few words; ‘Working Alone Sucks’.
Craig, Chad, and Charlie all met in 2012 when Craig created the local coworking alliance, Denver Coworks. Denver Coworks brought together local coworking operators and community managers to share ideas and collaborate after being inspired how the budding craft beer was working together to grow an audience. Through Denver Coworks, they worked together on Denver Coworking Week, the Coworking Passport, and annual kickball tournaments between spaces.
Creative Density started in Uptown but over the years added locations in Capitol Hill, Lone Tree, Sunnyside, and Park Hill. All locations were neighborhood-focused and under 8,000 SF and mostly served remote workers, local consultants, and remote teams. Thrive Workplace moved their original Lodo location to the much larger 20,000 SF Ball Park location, adding locations in Cherry Creek, Centennial, Arvada, and a new warehousing-focused location in Lakewood. Thrive’s locations are larger regional hubs for small businesses that provide extra services to support growing companies.
Over the years, the three owners have enjoyed working together and talking about their future visions for the coworking industry. Finally, 2025 was tthe ime for the two to merge and bring their communities and skills together.
12 Locations by 2027
Together with very complimentary skills of construction, architecture, community building, and technology, both brands are ready to work with landlords to bring coworking throughout Denver. Their goal is to have 12 locations throughout the Front Range by 2027. They already have one new location in the works and are talking to a handful of landlords who want to start activating their spaces. The two brands will remain separate, but members will be able to jump between locations to use coworking spots, meeting rooms, and creative studios.
They have identified Lowry, Lakewood, Superior, Englewood, Sloan’s Lake, and Capitol Hill as new spots for more coworking.
As Thrive and Creative Density grow, more small businesses and remote workers will come together to drive new ideas, form new businesses, and build new friendships.
‘We’re excited for the next few years. Get ready.’
